Skincare Benefits

Benefits of Hot Process VS. Cold

Hot process soap is not as commonly found in stores and online as cold process soap, but it’s worth looking out for as the benefits for your skin can not be compared!  Hot and cold process soap is almost identical, however not only does the end result of hot process just feel more luscious but the hot process allows you to better preserve the benefits from the natural essential oils as they are added after saponification occurs, the chemical reaction that creates soap!  It is no wonder that hot process gives so much more nourishment to your skin!

Benefits of Lavender Essential Oil

The aroma of lavender essential oil alone is enough to bring you a sense of relaxation, but did you know that lavender essential oil may also bring many amazing benefits to your body as well?  Lavender oil may kill bacteria and reduce inflammation, which in turn can be very beneficial to your skin when it comes to acne, clogged pores, blotchiness and redness! Feel free to explore this link to Healthline to check out the history and benefits of lavender!

Other essential oils that you will find in our soaps also may provide great benefits! Tea Tree oil may have an anti-inflammatory effect, inhibit growth of bacteria and fight infections.  Eucalyptus, Bergamot and Orange all have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties as well, which is known to help with acne and blemished skin!

Benefits of Coconut and Olive Oils

Our soaps consist of primarily coconut oil and a smaller amount of olive oil. These two oils can bring many nourishing benefits to your skin.

Coconut oil is said to have antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, which is great for acne and irritated skin like eczema and psoriasis.  It may also improve your skin’s protective barrier layer, keeping moisture inside and leaving your skin hydrated and happy.

Olive oil is rich in vitamins, including A, D, E and K. It’s moisturizing for the skin, while at the same time having anti-bacterial components, which may help with acne.
French green clay is used in our Lavender & Tea Tree Soap and may help to remove skin impurities. It is said to be a natural exfoliant that gently removes dead skin cells from the skin’s outer surface and increases circulation, leaving your skin looking and feeling soft on the outside.

Sodium lactate, which you will find in all our soaps, is used to create a harder bar of soap and retain moisture. It is derived from the natural fermentation of sugars, often from corn or beets.  Titanium dioxide and lavender ultramarine are naturrally occurring mineral based compounds used for colouring.
